Bisexual/Non-Monosexual Organizing Institute at Creating Change 2014
Being Bisexual or any other Non-Monosexual Queer Identity is one of the most complex realities to inhabit within LGBT and Straight Spaces.
It can be difficult to live one’s truth in a world increasingly polarized and dichotomous. As a member of a marginalized majority among sexual minorities, bisexual/non-monosexual queer people face unique challenges to the physical, psychological and spiritual process of making our bodies, lives, and desires our own.
At this year’s day long Organizing Institute for the Bisexual/non-Monosexual Community at Creating Change 2014 on Thursday, January 30th 2014 in Houston Texas USA we will critically reflect upon our lived experiences; use dialogue and experiential activities to envision next steps for our collective movement; and examine the ways in which sexuality intersects with race, ethnicity, gender/gender-presentation, class, and other social identities.
Come prepared to think, plan and organize with your whole being.
Open to all levels of activist experience as well as allies. This Institute is organized by: Dr Herukhuti, Faculty Member, Goddard College; M’kali Hashiki, founder, Body Enstasy in Oakland, CA; and Paul Nocera, from BiRequest a NYC Discussion Group.
And while you are attending Creating Change 2014 in Houston, Texas at the Hilton of the Americas–Houston from January 29–February 2, 2014 ALL Bisexual/Non-monosexual + Allied folks are invited to make the "Suite Bi & Bi", the Conference’s official Hospitality Suite for the entire Bisexual/Non-monosexual Community your Conference Headquarters.
