[USA]: Did you know there is an openly bisexual woman running for US Congress? Well there is. Her name is Kyrsten Sinema and she is a Democratic State Senator from Arizona.
Says the Victory Fund a group that helps get LGBTQ+ people elected, “TIME Magazine recently named Kyrsten a rising star in American politics as one of its “40 under 40” in 2010. After serving seven years in the Arizona legislature, Kyrsten is now running for Congress in Arizona’s newly drawn Ninth congressional district to advocate pro-equality values at the federal level. If elected, Kyrsten would be the only out woman in the U.S. House of Representatives and the second in history to serve in the U.S. House.”
If you are in the Los Angles area the Victory Fund invites you to a reception in support of Kyrsten Sinema on Sunday, July 1st 2012 from 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM. It will be fun AND you’ll be supporting a really good cause.
Can’t make it (or if you find tickets a little too pricey?) but still think it’s important to have someone like Kyrsten in Washington to represent us? Please consider a donation. Right now politics runs on $$’s. We know the the Big Haters are all out and giving Big Bucks but if we all give a little we can give them a run for their money.
